Resolution of the Boone County Republican Party to Boone County Board of Elections
WHEREAS, the Boone County Republican Party has in a previous resolution stated a clear position opposing any permanent consolidation of voting precincts during elections; AND,
WHEREAS, supporters of precinct consolidation state that this change will allow the county precincts to be ADA (American Disabilities Act) compliant; however, locating and allowing a proper amount of time for voters to adjust to changes will fulfill the requirements; AND,
WHEREAS, the reduction of precinct locations is the most extreme countermeasure to becoming ADA (American Disabilities Act) compliant when there are other viable options; AND,
WHEREAS, the Boone County Board of Elections have the duty and obligation to protect the election process and its registered voters right to participate in their duly designated voting precincts; NOW THEREFORE:
BE IT RESOLVED, that the Boone County Republican Party calls upon the Boone County Board of Elections and our representative Steve Mueller, to oppose any efforts to consolidate voting precincts as a permanent strategy or plan.
