Resolution of the Boone County Republican Party to Support Senate Bill 61

January 23, 2024

WHEREAS, Senate Bill 61 (SB61) has been submitted by Senator John Schickel to repeal unexcused absentee voting from KRS 117.076; AND,

WHEREAS, supporters of SB61 believe that voting is a solemn responsibility and privilege that must be protected; AND,

WHEREAS, SB61 does not affect excused in-person (or mail-in) absentee voting; AND,

WHEREAS, unexcused early voting stretches limited resources, there are a finite amount of Precinct Election Officers to be utilized; NOW THEREFORE:

BE IT RESOLVED, that the Boone County Republican Party calls upon the Kentucky State Senate, to support Senate Bill 61.

Adopted this 22nd day of January 2024, at a Regular Meeting of the Boone County Republican Party.
