The Planning Commission is fielding proposals to build three hotels, two in the county and one in Florence, and has finally set dates for the tech committee meeting and final action on the Conrad Lane-Carry Back Drive condo development proposal.

Public hearings were set regarding a proposed medical marijuana dispensary and a coffee shop, both in Florence, a hotel on the Frogtown Connector, and changes to use on Mineola Park, among others. Action on the contentious proposal for Conrad Lane at Carry Back Drive continues to be deferred.

Final action to be taken on several proposals at the January 8 meeting. A contentious proposal for the north side of Conrad Ln. across from Carryback Dr. in Burlington continues. Agreement was reached on a change to zoning at 8109 US Hwy 42.

Several proposals noted in previous reports passed unanimously during this meeting. Others wait either for public hearings or the Tech Committee meeting on December 18, with action to follow January 8.
Fiscal Court December 3
Of particular interest at the December 3 meeting was continued contentiousness over the county using state funding to install and maintain electric vehicle charging stations. A vote on the project has been tabled repeatedly. A final vote is expected December 17, 5:30 p.m., and residents are encouraged to voice their opinions to Fiscal Court members.
Fiscal Court November 19
The Fiscal Court addressed multi-family development, with one proposal pending its second reading and one denied. Other issues involved funding for charging stations for electric vehicles and for The Boone Conservancy.
