Union City Commission November 3
Among other reports, Union commissioners heard another proposal for the Union Landing project that was denied by the Boone County Planning Commission. The meeting included results of a survey of Union residents, notably their resistance to multi-family developments and desire to maintain the city’s small town character.

Union City commissioners heard from local residents as well as received updates on the West Ridge development, efforts to reduce semi-truck parking on interstate ramps, and Union Town Center, among other items of business.

An agent for leasing space in Union Promenade explained why the promised mix of shopping and eating choices has not panned out, and the commission discussed and voted on tax rates.

The public hearing regarding housing of greater density along Hathaway Road that was postponed by the applicant is back on the schedule for September 3.
Union City Commission June 2
The Commission heard reports on the budget, new businesses in the community, the upcoming Union Celebrates America parade and progress on the Pocket Parks. The Commission revisited a question of a Masonic Rite of Consecration, ending the discussion with a tie vote.

Among other issues, Union commissioners discussed tax revenues, sidewalk and blacktop maintenance, business signage, recycling and several ordinances and orders.
Union City Commission April 7
Plans for Union’s Pocket Parks are proceeding, decisions were reached on signage for Union Promenade and a number of new Municipal Orders were approved. The commission also is faced with finding new storage for salt for snow and ice treatment. New: future meetings will begin at 6 p.m.
