Fiscal Court November 19
The Fiscal Court addressed multi-family development, with one proposal pending its second reading and one denied. Other issues involved funding for charging stations for electric vehicles and for The Boone Conservancy.
Public Library Board November 18
Notably, the public comment period has been moved nearer to the beginning of the meeting than at the end. Information included an analysis of periodicals for bias, discussion of the Chapin Memorial Library and expansion of the Florence branch, engagement with the new Walton branch and review of board and staff codes of conduct.

Public Library Board October 21
Residents continue to be frustrated by lack of support for the Chapin Memorial Library and for including a conservative publication in the library’s periodicals selection. The board addressed budget reports, expansion of the Florence branch, a proposed code of ethics and other matters.

The August 19 meeting introduced two new library employees and discussed such issues as wi-fi and hotspot access, progress on the new Walton branch, residents’ use of the Chapin Memorial Library, fiscal reports, sale of library property and other issues.

The report from the August 7 Planning & Zoning meeting includes new proposals for multi-family units off Mount Zion Road, Gunpowder Road, and Dixie Highway. Public hearings or final action on several proposals is scheduled for September 4.
