Union City Commission November 24
Regular Meeting
The Union Landing Project updates were presented by the developer Paul Gallenstein. This project was previously denied by the Boone County Planning Committee unanimously. The land has now been annexed into the City of Union so they had sought approval by the Commission to proceed. Many residents showed up to voice their disapproval of an additional 319 units on only 40 acres, consisting of condos, townhomes and patio homes. One resident was favorable to the project.
Traffic, school crowding, parking limitations, lack of buffer zones, overcrowding in that area in general, and grass were just some of the concerns of the residents and BC Planning Commission. Residents stated that they moved to Union to live in a rural community and want to maintain that as much as possible.
