Public Comment

  • Tim Johnson voiced concerns over social media posts by a sitting commissioner; no details given.
  • Several citizens spoke in defense of Gayle Pille and against the use of eminent domain to condemn one mile of her property for an SD1 project after she refused to sell to SD1. Compensation offered was $22K, but according to the engineering report the project would destroy $1MM worth of old growth trees. A Facebook page is dedicated to this issue: Save Future Nature Preserve in Boone Co. The account has posted some interesting info including emails between fiscal court staff and SD1 leadership about this movement to save Gayle’s property
