Walton-Verona School Board April
The district adopted a curriculum titled Pyramid, the goal of which is not yet completely clear. However, the most obvious component is SEL, Social Emotional Learning. At the preschool level, it includes not saying “no” to the three- and four-year-olds, which is practically impossible.
Generally, SEL spends significant resources on surveys to gather data on the state of mind of both students and their families, occasionally leading to intervention by the school system to alter the observed state to one preferred by the school system or state. As well, documentation accumulated on students and their family may remain available even past leaving the school system.
