 Parks and Recreation Month Proclamation

Kirby Mynhier- zoning map amendment was presented to fiscal court- Mr. Mynhier would like to carve out 2 acres for his son to build a house and driveway on his land. No opposition.

Administrative matters – Resolutions

1. Boone County Fiscal Court acknowledging receipt of the public health tax rate and verifying its placement on the county tax bill. Rate remains the same this year, no increase.
2. Update administrative code. Approved
3. Touchstone/Wells Fargo to manage investment of County funds. Approved
4. Chinquapin Hill Road Resurfacing, $120K provided by KYTC. Approved
5. County vehicles declared as surplus to be submitted for auction. Approved
6. Construction of remaining 1900 feet of water main on Turner Road, $360K, budgeted. Approved
7. Deposition unidentified/unclaimed human remains. Removed from Agenda
8. Parks equipment declared as surplus (2007 Concession trailer). Approved for auction
9. Purchase, $150K, of backhoe loader for the public works dept. from Murphy Equip. Approved
10. Purchase chemicals/fertilizer from various suppliers for 2027 parks and golf courses. Approved
11. Agreement with Team Fishel for construction of new underground fiber connections, $190K, below budget. Approved

Fiscal Matters

Authorize transfers in the amount of $2,367,166.00 into the county reserves. These were items that were previously budgeted but funds were not used. Approved 4-0

Old Business

• Katy Lowell asked the court about the new code of ethics review. Work in progress.
• The court was asked about the new street legal UTV ordinance. Work in progress.
• Backyard chickens, bees and rabbits was asked about again. Work in progress.

New Business

Petersburg resident asked about the new pipeline project; residents were just informed about this project last week. There were a lot of concerns: pipeline failure, groundwater contamination and environmental issues. This project is in the planning stages until the 27th. This will run from Indiana through Kentucky to Ohio. Fiscal court will send letters to federal and state legislatures to raise awareness. This project has no benefit to Petersburg, Boone County, or Kentucky.
