Boone County Board of Elections
WHEREAS, the Boone County Republican Party affirms that the right to vote is sacred and essential to self-governance, that free, fair and legitimate elections in which every legal vote in Boone County is accurately counted is vital to the continuation of our Republic; and that the citizens of Boone County have the right and duty to demand that the Boone County Board of Elections put forth a plan to ensure election integrity; AND,
WHEREAS, the reliance on electronic voting machines in the voting and counting process only further invite bad actors to manipulate election results thereby disenfranchising ALL voters; and that consolidating the number of Polling locations into so called “super” locations creates more opportunity for fraud, and reinforces a contrived need for continued use of electronic voting machines; AND,
WHEREAS, supporters of consolidating polling locations state that this change will save the taxpayers money and require less volunteers to work the polls; however, cost savings and lack of manpower is not proper justification to increase the risk of fraudulent elections.
WHEREAS, the Boone County Board of Elections have the duty and obligation to protect the election process and its registered voters right to participate in fair elections; NOW THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED, that the Boone County Republican Party calls upon the Boone County Board of Elections to restore confidence in the election process and ensure election integrity. Specific methods shall include:
• To the extent possible, demand paper ballots be marked with pen by the voter, to be first hand counted at the polling location and the tally verified by machine.
• Disregard suggested cost savings and lack of manpower as a valid reason to consolidate polls.
• Launch an information campaign to encourage Boone County registered voters to volunteer as poll workers.
• Vehemently oppose any attempt to centralize or reduce polling locations. Adopted this 30th day of August, 2021, at a Special Meeting of the Boone County Republican Party.
