Quarterly Business Meeting, September 13, 2023, District Office, 8001 Veterans Memorial Drive, Florence, Kentucky

Legal counsel reviewed Highland Heights Smoke-Free Ordinance; awaiting one signature and will be sent to Attorney General Office.

Financials:  Audit for year end June 2023, completed and clean audit.

District Director of Health:  City of Corinth Smoke-free Ordinance passed September 11. Working with partners in The Drug and Alcohol Policy who have produced two applications: 1) for the region to be a recovery ready community, to which they were the first region to commit; a site visit in Grant County “wowed” the group; and 2) abatement funds for which they were the first region to apply, partnership with St. Elizabeth, Transitions, Life Learning Centers, Sun Behavioral Health, and North Key.  Director of Clinical Services is trained on EPIC, medical software used by St. Elizabeth and other healthcare facilities.

Lactation on the Levee (August 2): successful event for the health of babies and mothers.

Environmental Report:  Inspected 360 public pools; 500 animal bites, with 37 specimens submitted for rabies testing; nearly 500 food testing inspections for fairs and festivals; 90 field services related to complaints.

Received award for the bus wrap “This bus runs on unleaded, so should your kids” for prevention of lead poisoning.

Resignations:  George Moore, Director of Administration & Accounting (Presented Proclamation) and    Board Member, Marie Schenkle, Chair Population Health.

Clinical Services Report:  Meeting scheduled for October.

Population Health Report:  Met September 6 and reviewed agencies’ progress on harm reduction including distribution of Naloxone, providing lock boxes to organizations and schools, syringe exchange, placement of kiosks to increase access to Naloxone. First kiosk will be placed at Health Center in Grant County.

Local Boards:  No meetings for Boone, Campbell, Grant, and Kenton.

Next meeting December 13, 6:00 p.m.
