Local Government Zoning Amendment Proposals

Florence – City of Florence requesting an amendment to County Zoning Regulation, with potential impact on Long Range Plan; relates to allowing fences on corner lots. Tech Committee: passed 3-0.  Final Action: Aug 7, 7pm

County – Zoning changes to allow cannabis businesses. Final Action: Aug 7, 7pm. (County and Walton will not allow cannabis sales; Florence and Union will use Nov 2024 ballot to decide.)

County – Long Range Planning/Comp Plan Committee Meeting is planning a website to inform the public. Public Meetings Series 1: Sep 6, 7, 25, 26, and 30. Public Meetings Series 2: Nov 7, 19, 21, 25, and 26.

Individual Requests

Hebron – Airport exit, 571/527 Hunter Rd: change from several commercial uses to C3 for all 9.54 acres to allow converting 7.52 acres to truck stack (longer term} parking and add 2.02 acres of commercial parking. A traffic impact study is required. Tech Committee: Aug 21, 5pm. Action Date: unclear.

Boone County–Southwest termination of Man O War, Richmond Rd: change From Public Facilities on land originally controlled by St. Elizabeth to Single Family Residential, 16 acres/34 homes. Tech Committee: passed 3-0. Final Action: Aug 7, 7pm.

Boone County – 3331-3333 Mineola Pike: Corporex requests change from Rural Suburban Residential to C2 commercial (remaining houses along Mineola), 5.7 acre/37,300 sq Fft/6 buildings. Multiple reductions in setback from 50-60 ft to 10 ft. Committed to moderate height lights; business closure by 10 pm; 1 gas station/ two or fewer drive-thru restaurants.  Tech Committee: passed 5-0. Final Action: Aug 7, 7 pm.
