Florence City Council July 28
Florence City Council covered a lot of ground in its July 28 meeting, unanimously approving legislative items and appointments advanced from the previous meeting. Of note: extended discussion of community concerns regarding safe operation of e-bikes, e-scooters, and bicycles by juveniles and practical limitations of current enforcement tools.
Florence City Council December 9
Five residents spoke regarding a variety of concerns, including traffic issues in Orleans South development and a detailed report about courtesy notices to residents.
Planning & Zoning December 3
Notable on the agenda: how the county will address Ky state law that prohibits cities or counties from adopting zoning laws that exclude qualified manufactured homes from any residential zone that allows single-family homes. The county continues to grapple with balancing the need for housing and public opposition to high-density development.
Florence City Council November 11
The November 11 meeting addressed problems with misinformation and criticism on social media, and residents are advised to call or visit the council office with questions instead of posting online. Five members of the public spoke about various concerns.
