Boone County School District Board Meeting Report – July 13, 2023

Meeting dates for 2023-2024 announced: New time 7 p.m. (previously 7:30 p.m.) Next meeting Aug 10, 2023. Agenda available August 5.  #1 agenda item: school tax increase. Agenda can be found at KSBA’s Public Portal.

KEY ACTIONS JULY 13, 2023
Items A to TT Passed:  Several items were passed as a group with minimal discussion. These include construction projects, contracts for school trips, contracts with third parties for training and curriculum (many using ESSER funds available post-Covid), contracts for mental health counseling, school attorney, and SRO agreement.

STUDENT TRACKING
Motion to Amend Passed: To amend the motion from: “Mr. Matt Turner, Superintendent, recommended the board approve the Contract Between CI Solutions and Boone County Board of Education for Zonar Z Pass for Elementary Students and Students Receiving Special Transportation, as presented” to: “Mr. Jesse Parks recommended the board approve the Contract Between CI Solutions and Boone County Board of Education for Zonar Z Pass for Elementary Students and Students Receiving Special Transportation to include an opt out but with lunch code and no fees added to schools the first year, as presented.” Passed with a motion by Mr. Jesse Parks and a second by Dr. Maria Brown.

(N) E-Hall Pass E-Hall Pass is an online system of managing hall passes, $35,861

ADMINISTRATION ROOM CONSTRUCTION
(H) Bid Award and Revised BG-1 for LSS Data Room Relocation: $1,738,800 Construction Cost. Total Probable Cost $2,440,991

OUTSIDE DISTRICT SUPERINTENDENT CONNECTION
(KK) Batelle for Kids/EdLeader 21: This agreement is to renew annual membership in the Battelle for Kids/EdLeader21 Professional Learning Community, $10,000

(LL-OO) Membership Fees for Superintendent: KASA/AASA $1,616.71; KASS $2,000; NKY Chamber of Commerce $618; NKY Education Council $10,000

(PP) Superintendent to attend Edleader 21 Annual Conference: $2,251.40

(QQ) KSBA Summer Leadership Conference: Superintendent and two board members, registration and accommodations,  $1,775
