Resolution in Support of HRJ 8
WHEREAS, President Donald J. Trump was inaugurated President of the United States on January 20, 2025; and
WHEREAS, President Trump made great improvements to the United States during his time as president and will continue to Make America Great Again; and
WHEREAS, President Trump overcame an effort to destroy him, including two assassination attempts, 34 politically motivated convictions, two sham impeachments, an arrest, four indictments, and a raid from the disgraced Merrick Garland and Christopher Wray’s FBI; and
WHEREAS, President Trump succeeded in bringing troops home from overseas, ending his term with about 2,500 soldiers in Afghanistan, down from 8,400 in January 2017 and 98,000 in the Afghanistan War’s peak in 2011; and
WHEREAS, in order to avoid American money, manpower, and resources being sent to support organizations whose interests are not always aligned with those of the United States, President Trump withdrew from the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization in 2017, the United Nations Human Rights Council in 2018, and the World Health Organization in 2020, as well as from the United Nations Arms Trade Treaty, and the Paris Climate Accord; and
WHEREAS, President Trump’s actions during his first term had a positive effect on the American people and the resilience of American government; and
WHEREAS, for his accomplishments in the past and for all the things he will do for our country, our commonwealth and our county over the next four years, President Trump is worthy of tangible recognition by the Commonwealth of Kentucky;
NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved that the Boone County Republican Party endorses Representative T.J. Roberts’ House Joint Resolution 8, which directs the Transportation Cabinet to designate the portion of Kentucky Route 18 in Boone County from mile point 0 to mile point 11.775 as the “President Donald J. Trump Highway.”
