Presentations:
Senator Gex Williams and Rep. TJ Roberts presented checks totaling $77mm from the State to fund Boone County road projects.
Lee Crume of BE NKY updated the court on economic development partnerships and how they are funded. 70% of the budget is generated from fees on rental cars, Uber, Lyft in NKY. Looking to add additional fees on taxi service.
Ordinance Changes
A 45-acre site with 1500 feet of frontage on Burlington Pike was presented for a change in concept plan. No current traffic studies have been completed. Several homeowners spoke in opposition to this change in plan. Citing traffic issues, congestion, one way in/one way out and the plan to connect to further development at a later date. First reading was approved tonight, which begins a 90-day clock for approval of change.

Old Business
Ethics code update given by Commissioner Hand
After extensive review it has been decided that no changes are needed at this time. This caused an outburst by Katie Lovell who then threatened Commissioner Hand. Hand then asked that the threat be added to public record.
Petersburg Pipeline
Debra Lawler requested an update about the Petersburg pipeline project. It is in the Federal government’s hands now. Commissioners as well as members of fiscal court sent letters in opposition of proposed pipeline that would have no benefit for Kentucky.
New Business
SD1 sewer project
Gayle Pille asked for the courts support in stopping this project that would take part of her land by eminent domain. There are other cheaper, less invasive options that by SD1s own engineering report would be better. Using Ms. Pilles land would be much more expensive and cause harm to an intended nature preserve that she has been developing for many years. Several speakers spoke in opposition to this plan. Court did not seem sympathetic. No assistance was offered.
This issue has generated a lot of social media/ TV media and national conservation support. There is currently an online petition with almost 3,000 signatures. The plan that SD1 chose will give sewer access to an undeveloped Arlinghaus property. The other options do not.
Next meeting is September 22nd at 5:30 p.m. A caucus meeting is scheduled for the 24th at 5 p.m. to discuss the survey sent out about ebikes, scooters etc.
