Boone County School Board April 16

Boone County School Board April 16

April 16, 2026

The April 16 meeting was largely administrative and operational, with little public controversy. There were no speakers. The Board unanimously approved a comprehensive consent agenda addressing finances, construction projects, community partnerships, transportation, curriculum contracts, and student activities.

The only divided vote occurred on revisions to the 2025-2026 and 2026-2027 school calendars, where Karen Byrd voted against the proposal while Julie Maddox, Jesse Parks, and Cindy Young voted in favor; Carolyn Wolfe was absent. The remainder of the meeting proceeded unanimously, including motions to enter and exit executive session for an employee grievance appeal and the final adjournment. Overall, the Board demonstrated broad agreement on district operations, with the calendar revisions representing the sole point of disagreement during the meeting.
