Florence City Council approved a zoning change to accommodate a new hotel on Merchants Street; noted upcoming events at the Florence City Complex; recognized outstanding work by firefighters/paramedics Christian Ritchie and Ryan Johnston; and met in closed session to select the replacement to fill the seat left vacant by the death of David Osborne.

Florence City Council noted the passing of long-time councilman David Osborne, who served from 1976 to 1989 and again from 1992 to 2025. Agenda items included a reactive traffic system, problems with cars blocking streets during snow removal and some residents ignoring parking ordinances.
