Planning & Zoning May 7

Planning & Zoning May 7

May 7, 2025

Boone County – North side of Conrad Ln across from Carry Back Dr.: change 11.8 acres from Industrial 1 to allow 68 condo units in six buildings. Lots of opposition because the concept seems flawed. Other problems are multiple accidents on Conrad due to S curve, school buses already overcrowded, with kids unable to have a seat, a stream runs through the property and the north side of Conrad is zoned industrial. Being at the end of the main east/west runway, noise is likely so a report from the airport is required. Final Action: withdrawn by the applicant.

Boone County – North side of Hathaway Rd at Meiman Rd: change the status of two acreages, 18.8 acres and 81 acres, from Suburban Residential 1 to Planned Suburban Residential to allow construction of a 13,000 sq ft event center among single family residential (West Brooke Estates). Lots of objections from residents of the development and others along Hathaway Rd.  Concerns were traffic, noise and alcohol sales, which the zoning board also expressed as concerning. Applicant claimed this mirrored Triple Crown, but applicant never mentioned this when selling houses. Final Action: denied 6-5. Still goes to Union.

Boone County – North side of Hathaway Rd, between Big Bone Rd and Enclave Dr: change Rural Suburban zoning to reduce the number of single family lots and eliminate access to Hathaway for the Woodvale Subdivision. Public Hearing: June 4, 7:30 pm.

Florence – 51 Spiral Dr: Cincinnati Overstock Warehouse requested an unpublished change. Final Action: approved.
