Boone County School Board February 12

Boone County School Board February 12

February 12, 2026

The Boone County Board of Education held its regular meeting on February 12, 2026, with all five members present: Karen Byrd, Julie Maddox, Jesse Parks (chair), Carolyn Wolfe and Cindy Young. The meeting was largely procedural and marked by complete consensus across all decisions. The board unanimously approved the consent agenda, which included prior meeting minutes, financial reports, staff leave requests, multiple construction and facilities projects that included several school roof replacements and infrastructure upgrades, transportation purchases and requests, field trips and various operational agreements.

All subsequent action items also passed unanimously. In old business, revisions to administrative, guidance, and librarian allocations were approved. In new business, the board approved three significant math-related initiatives: HQIR math curriculum adoption, a Math MTSS required intervention program, and associated professional development. The board also unanimously approved entering and exiting a closed executive session related to contract selection, with no action taken during that session, and later voted 5–0 to adjourn the meeting.
