Notable at the June 11 meeting was a split vote on the consent agenda, which corralled many items into one for approval. Inclusion of Panorama Education was cited as the reason for the lone no vote. (Per Panorama’s website, the software “connect[s] student data and AI with action across MTSS, pathways, surveys, and instruction.”)

The March 12 meeting was notable for the controversial vote to move students from overcrowded Ballyshannon Middle School to Gray Middle School and Camp Ernst Middle School.

The school board spends $219K+ on Panorama, which the education services company says “collect[s] and act[s] on essential student behavior data” and provides “a valid and reliable survey tool to measure student perceptions of teaching and learning,” among other data collection applications.
