The December report covers three important issues: recruitment of new 2024 Board members, access to R-rated movies by minors and issues at Chapin Memorial Library in Petersburg continue into a third month.
Public Library Board November 20
Public comment time (15 minutes in total) is provided at the beginning of the meeting. The concerned citizens from Petersburg appeared again en masse regarding the Chapin Memorial Library (CML). The group met with the library director on 11/6.

Boone County School Board November 9
Quantifying Total System Effectiveness
The District presented the State’s effectiveness reporting system termed “Accountability Report.” Even the administration’s presenter described the report as “gobbledygook” because no insight can be extracted, much less improvement action steps identified from the report.

Planning & Zoning proposals affecting Florence, Union, Burlington and Boone County regarding multi-family housing, commercial development and cell tower installation.

Public Library Board October 16
The highlight of the meeting was the approximately 25 citizens from Petersburg and Bellevue Bottoms who came to protest the continued closing of the Chapin library in Petersburg, which has been closed since February 2021.
Planning & Zoning September 20 & October 4
Planning & Zoning is discussing changes to allow further retail and apartment development throughout the county. Public input is critical and welcome. Note committee, action and public hearing dates.
